A lender can run a credit report for you with your authorization and go over your credit history and show what you could do to increase your score. This is good to do occasionally anyway since sometimes wrong information is reported on someone and affecting their score. It takes some time for a credit score to go up following a correction or payoff so the sooner you start on this, the better.
